CONCEPT

Communicating meaning through static graphic symbolism and moving image. 

I explored the meaning of ‘Filter’ in my language to add a new level of interpretation to the word. In Greek, filter means a potion with the ability to alter our thoughts and feelings. The symbol is based on the initial Greek letter ‘F’ (φ), with extra attention paid on the visual grammar. Then, I filmed a small chemical reaction that resembles the suggested movement of my symbol.

Materials used: Hydrogen peroxide, dishwashing liquid, food dye, dry yeast.
